The Hardknott Pass - The Lake District
Driving from Coniston to Wastwater we headed for the Hardknott Pass. The Hardknott pass is a strip of tarmac like a piece of spaghetti resting over the hills between the villages of Beckfoot and Cockley Beck, a fun road to drive!
We drive a MWB Sprinter. I think driving the pass in a LWB van or a coach built motor home would be a challenge!
You can buy free range eggs from this farm if you aren’t vegan.
A wiggly bit of tarmac going up the hill.
Big skies at the top
Thank you weather for the blue skies and fluffy clouds.
Now it’s time for gravity to help us go down.
This corner was a bit of challenge. A reverse up hill start with the front wheels too close to the edge for comfort!
On the next corner I saw wheel marks going off the road!
