The Old Man of Coniston Wild Camping

And Coniston Water, The Lake District

Wow what an amazing spot!  Follow the signs to Coniston Copper Mines which will bring you to a steep uphill that turns quite bumpy. You will have a river and a bunch of waterfalls to your left. Keep going past the youth hostel. Eventually the track is blocked by a gate but you have plenty of level ground to choose from. There is a small quarry that is in operation and a hydroelectric power station.

The views looking down the valley to lake Coniston are amazing.

If you do plan to take you van up The Old Man of Coniston I would choose a day when the quarry is not open.
