Tarbat Ness Lighthouse

Perched near the end of the Tarbat Ness peninsular is the light house standing 53 meters high built by Robert Stevenson who thoroughly enjoyed designing and building lighthouses.

We wild camped in the public car park, unfortunately a notice stating that no unauthorised vehicles are allowed passed the gates leading to the light house.

Just past the gorse bushes opens up to what could be an amazing spot, sharing panoramic views of the Scottish coastline with the Dornock Firth to one side and the Moray Firth on the other. Also looks to be a popular spot for bird watchers. The car park was all ours by 9pm.

Taking a walk around coast the light house you get a feel for the dangers it’s warning the ships from.
