Haweswater - The Lake District
Haweswater is on the east side of the lakes. It’s not a natural lake but a man made reservoir. The valley was flooded in 1935. Originally the reservoir was built to supply water to Manchester. A Golden Eagle lives in the valley. If your lucky the eagle may put on a show. Unfortunately it’s partner has left him!
Stunning light shimmering on the water
The dam raised the water by 29 meters
In times of drought the remains of the farms and villages can be seen.
The end of the road
